Which is better for learning a violin, electric or acoustic?

I am looking at getting a violin. My choices are this http://goo.gl/VkNzk which is an electric violin or this http://goo.gl/KsQIj acoustic violin. The reason I ask about electric is that I want to know if it is loud enough to annoy others or if it is just as loud as an acoustic. What are some advantages and disadvantages to both. I have been playing guitar for 10 years, bass guitar for 4 years, and mandolin for a few months. I like the variety of learning instruments and violin is next up on my list. I don't want to spend more than 100$ on an acoustic and more than 150$ on an electric. I'm just trying this out and seeing if it fits me. I love the idea of violin's and the sound of them. Any suggestions, or suggestions on brands even?
