Do orthodox jews debate which books of the old testiment are written by God through man and which are just goo?

Yes they do debate, analyze, and argue about this very thing. It's all in a books of the Mishna and Talmud. It's derived from the commentaries of the sages throughout history. There is the Babylonian Talmud and the Palestinian Talmud. The later is the most comprehensive.
